Commissions
Some pieces of art begin with an idea, a favorite place, or a memory you want to hold onto.
That is one of my favorite parts of creating custom work.
At Brule River ArtisTree, I accept a limited number of commissions for customers who want a piece made specifically for their home, cabin, lake house, wedding, anniversary, or special gift.
What is a commission?
A commission is a piece of functional art created specifically for you.
Instead of choosing a finished piece from my shop, we work together to choose the size, colors, style, and details that make the piece personal.
Your inspiration might be:
- The colors of your favorite lake
- Lake Superior waves and shoreline
- A favorite Upper Peninsula memory
- Northern lights
- Pine or birch forests
- A cabin or lake house color palette
- Stones collected from a meaningful place
- Colors from a wedding or special event
- A favorite piece you have seen in one of my previous collections
You do not need to know exactly what you want before contacting me. A few ideas, colors, or photographs are often enough to get us started.
Functional art made for your life
Most of my commissions are not pieces meant to sit untouched.
They are made to become part of your home.
A custom serving board can come out when friends gather around the table. A tray can sit on the kitchen island. A piece inspired by your favorite shoreline can bring that place back to you every time you see it.
That is what I love about functional art. You get to live with it and use it.
Handmade means every piece will be different
My work is created by hand in my Upper Peninsula studio.
Resin moves. Colors blend. Waves form differently with every pour. Wood grain changes from board to board.
That means I can create a piece inspired by another piece you love, but I will not make an exact copy.
Your piece will be yours.
How commissions work
- Contact me with your idea.
- Tell me what type and size of piece you are looking for.
- Share your preferred colors, inspiration photos, or the story behind the piece.
- We will discuss the design, price, and estimated completion time.
- Once the details are approved, I begin creating your piece.
Because resin requires multiple steps, finishing work, and curing time, commissions cannot be rushed. Please contact me early if your piece is intended for a wedding, anniversary, holiday, or other specific date.
A meaningful gift
Commissioned pieces are also a beautiful option when you want to give something that feels personal.
I especially love creating pieces connected to a place or memory.
A family lake.
A favorite stretch of shoreline.
The cabin where everyone gathers.
A piece of the Upper Peninsula for someone who has moved away.
Those details can turn a serving board into something that stays in a family for years.
Interested in a commission?
I open a limited number of commission spaces so I can give each piece the time and attention it needs.
If you have an idea, send me a message through Brule River ArtisTree and tell me a little about what you have in mind.
You do not need to have it all figured out.
Start with the story, the place, or the colors you love.
I’ll take it from there.
