Brule River ArtisTree

is functional art inspired by the woods, water, and shorelines of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

I’m Dawn, the artist behind Brule River ArtisTree in Iron River, Michigan. I create one-of-a-kind serving boards, charcuterie boards, trays, and smaller pieces that bring a little piece of the North into your home.

Art Made to Be Used

I believe art doesn’t have to stay on the wall.

My serving pieces are made to be part of your everyday life. Use them for a quiet evening at the cabin, a gathering around the table, or a special celebration. They also make meaningful gifts for weddings, housewarmings, anniversaries, and anyone who feels at home near the water and woods.

Each piece begins by hand. I paint and pour the colors, waves, forests, shorelines, and other details individually. No two pieces turn out exactly alike.

Many of my designs are inspired by places and moments familiar to those of us who love the Upper Peninsula:

  • Lake Superior and its changing water
  • Rocky shorelines and agates
  • Pine and birch forests
  • Northern lights
  • Quiet rivers and lakes
  • Life at the cabin

Why Functional Art?

Creating has always been more than making something beautiful for me. The process can be calming, restorative, and healing.

That idea became part of Brule River ArtisTree.

Brule River ArtisTree is a small artist-owned business. When you purchase a piece, you are buying art made by an individual artist, not something produced by the thousands.
