We've been keeping a secret....
What We’ve Been Up to at Brule River ArtisTree
It’s been a full summer at Brule River ArtisTree, and I wanted to share a little of what’s been happening behind the scenes, at the studio, and on the road.
A Summer Full of Art
This summer has taken Brule River ArtisTree across the Upper Peninsula, from Art for All in Iron Mountain and Menominee to the Outback Art Fair in Marquette and our local Iron County Artisan & Farmers Market, and market in land o lakes and Eagle River.
One of the highlights of the summer was receiving the honor of Best in Show at Art for All.
For a small handmade art business, that recognition meant so much. Each piece begins in my studio and is painted and poured by hand, so seeing this work connect with people continues to be one of the best parts of what I do.
And.......we’re not finished yet.
There are more markets, art fairs, studio events, and winter shows ahead. You can always check our Events page for the latest schedule and see where Brule River ArtisTree will be next.
New Techniques. New Pieces. More Fun.
I’ve also been spending time experimenting.
New resin techniques. New painting styles. New color combinations. New ways to bring the lakes, forests, shorelines, and feeling of the Upper Peninsula into functional art.
Some experiments become finished pieces.
Some send me straight back to the drawing board.
That’s part of the fun.
You’ll be seeing more new work coming out of the studio over the next several months, including pieces that are a little different from what you’ve seen from Brule River ArtisTree before.
Coming Soon: Wave Board Classes
This is a secret I've been working on forms long while....
Wave Board Classes are coming to Brule River ArtisTree.
You’ll get the chance to come into the studio and create your own resin wave serving board while learning the techniques I use to create movement, depth, shoreline effects, and those foamy waves.
No resin experience is needed.
I’ll walk you through the process, provide the materials, and help you create a functional piece of art that is uniquely yours.
Class sizes will be kept individual or very small, so everyone has plenty of hands-on help.
Want First Choice of Class Dates?
Register for an account on the Brule River ArtisTree website or subscribe to our emails.
Account holders will be able to get on the class schedule and reserve a spot as new Wave Board Class dates become available.
I’m looking forward to welcoming you into the studio, getting a little messy, and showing you just how much fun creating with resin can be.
Watch for an email detailing when classes start in mid September.
There’s more coming.
More art. More classes. More experimenting. And plenty more fun.
Thank you for following along and supporting handmade art from the Upper Peninsula.
Dawn,
Brule River ArtisTree
